ProSiebenSat.1 was still a traditional TV group only a few years ago. Today, we are a digital media corporation with a diversified business profile, including e-commerce, international program sales and our own multi-channel network. We support this process with numerous human resources measures. For example, part of our philosophy as an employer is to create conditions that strengthen our innovative power and serve the individual interests of our employees.
We offer our employees an exciting working environment with lots of creative leeway. At the same time, we promote diversity in the composition of teams and help employees balance their careers and private lives. We define personal targets on the basis of our Group targets and ensure that good results are rewarded appropriately. We use clear target agreements to document personal successes and variable compensation components to give our employees a share in the Company’s growth. This is based on a management culture that encourages motivation. For this purpose, we have implemented guidelines that serve managers as a point of reference and promote open dialog.
We value and promote the individual characteristics of our employees: Diversity strengthens the creativity of our teams. We are convinced that our future viability hinges on how we use this potential in order to better understand the different needs of our customers and to reinforce our employees’ identification with the Company. Diversity is therefore an important part of our corporate culture. We feel that it is particularly important for us to achieve a good balance of men and women within the Company and in management positions. In 2016, 49.2 % of ProSiebenSat.1 employees were female (previous year: 46.8 %) and 50.8 % were male (previous year: 53.2 %).
It seems natural to us to help our employees balance career and private life. Our company agreements therefore aim at a good work-life balance. At our headquarter location in Unterföhring, we offer corresponding services to all employees, including temporary and part-time employees.
Recruiting, Education and Training
Our corporate culture is characterized by an unfaltering willingness to change. We help employees acquire new knowledge and skills throughout their professional lives and regardless of their place in the hierarchy. The various seminars on professional and personal development are derived from the corporate strategy and aligned to the qualification requirements of ProSiebenSat.1 employees. Digital issues such as “Digital Economy,” “E-Commerce & Online Marketing” and “Lean Start-up for User Experience” are therefore a priority. The objective of this training is that employees understand digital megatrends and the latest technologies and that they estimate the importance for our industry, in order to develop new products and business models.
ProSiebenSat.1 Group offers its employees various training measures and creates career opportunities on the basis of personal ability. At the same time, ProSiebenSat.1 provides a performance incentive via a compensation system comprising fixed and variable performance-based components. The same principles apply to all employees: Women and men in similar positions at ProSiebenSat.1 Group have the same earning opportunities. The compensation depends on the function performed and individual performance.
Open-mindedness and respect lie at the heart of the ProSiebenSat.1 corporate culture. The Group signed the Diversity Charter in 2014. As signatories to this initiative, we have renewed our commitment to creating an inclusionary working environment that is free of prejudice and promotes diversity among staff.
Our annual Social Days are an opportunity for ProSiebenSat.1 employees – from channel heads to apprentices – to join together and put our commitment to social responsibility into action by helping the less privileged and, at the same time, getting to know colleagues from other departments.
Under the WE HELP banner, ProSiebenSat.1 Group is doing its part for refugees in Germany. Set up specifically for this purpose, the project group of the same name meets regularly to brainstorm new ideas.
