ProSiebenSat.1 and Telekom expand partnership

kabel eins Doku in HD to be included in Telekom TV offerings Extension of cooperation in TV and in the mobile sector

Unterföhring, September 17, 2016 – ProSiebenSat.1 and Telekom are expanding their agreement for EntertainTV. This step ensures the long-term distribution of free TV and pay TV channels in SD and HD quality across the TV offerings of the telecommunications provider. EntertainTV customers will additionally receive a new channel in HD for the first time: kabel eins Doku. The agreement includes the continued mobile distribution of the program content from ProSieben, SAT.1, kabel eins, sixx, ProSieben MAXX, and SAT.1 GOLD via EntertainTV mobil, the Telekom TV offering for PCs, tablets, and smartphones. The new channel, kabel eins Doku, will also be available for mobile distribution from the beginning. Another new addition will be the weather offerings from ProSiebenSat.1: The weather app and pay TV channel wetter.com TV will provide a round-the-clock overview of weather conditions. Furthermore, time-independent television viewing will become even more convenient in the future. The agreement includes the restart function, a feature that enables viewers to restart many programs currently being broadcast. With a cloud-based Personal Video Recorder (NPVR), users can additionally record television programs in the cloud and view them on mobile devices. Christof Wahl, Executive Board member of Distribution & Digital Entertainment at ProSiebenSat.1: “Not only will ongoing digitalization and the accompanying flexibility and mobility have a lasting impact on the entertainment and media landscape, they are also creating new access options that will greatly benefit our audience. Thanks to our agreement with Telekom Deutschland, our offerings are reaching 2.7 million television households and 40 million mobile customers.”
