ProSiebenSat.1 and Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution Extend Licensing Deal

Munich, May 23, 2017. ProSiebenSat.1 Group and Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution have extended their existing licensing deal on a long-term basis. The agreement secures ProSiebenSat.1 Hollywood blockbusters and TV series from the US studio. The broadcasting rights apply to the free TV stations of ProSiebenSat.1 Group in Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland. In addition, the deal includes selected exclusive rights for the Group’s pay TV and subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) platforms. In the years to come, current Fox productions such as the Marvel blockbuster “Deadpool” and the hit animation “Ice Age: Collision Course” will be shown on ProSiebenSat.1 stations. Another upcoming highlight is “Alien: Covenant” from Ridley Scott which is also part of the deal with the Hollywood studio. TV hits from Twentieth Century Fox Television will also strengthen ProSiebenSat.1’s series programming supply in the long term. The drama “This Is Us”, which is a big success in the US and has already been renewed for another two seasons, will air on ProSieben from May 24 on. The single-camera comedy “The Mick” is another series highlight of the deal. The extension of the agreement also gives ProSiebenSat.1 continued access to the extensive Fox library with beloved movies such as “Titanic”, “Speed”, “Independence Day”, “Home Alone” and “The Devil Wears Prada”. Rüdiger Böss, Executive Vice President Group Programming Acquisitions, ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE, said: “We have already worked with Twentieth Century Fox for many years and I am delighted that we have extended this partnership for the long term.
