ProSiebenSat.1 Group Signs Contract with M7 Group to Start Four Austrian HD Broadcasters

Munich, July 5, 2011 In September 2011, the ProSiebenSat.1 Group will launch the broadcasters SAT.1 Österreich HD, ProSieben Austria HD, kabel eins austria HD and  PULS 4 HD. Austrian programming in HD quality will be provided by AustriaSat, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the M7 Group, to all satellite-equipped households via the ORF-Digital smartcard. 

Starting in September, AustriaSat will offer the HD programming as part of its "HD Austria" package. To get the HD package, viewers will need an ORF-Digital smartcard and an HD Austria-licensed receiver or the HD Austria CI+ module. Suitable receivers will be available in stores at the time of the market launch.

ProSiebenSat.1 Group has signed a new long-term transponder contract with SES-ASTRA for transmission of Austrian HD programming. Programs will also be shown in standard resolution parallel to HD broadcasting.
