ProSiebenSat.1 to launch seven channels on Exaring’s new TV platform

Unterföhring, September 26, 2016 – ProSiebenSat.1 and Exaring, a provider of entertainment services, have entered into an agreement to transmit linear TV signals via an Internet connection. Under the agreement, programs of ProSieben, SAT.1, kabel eins, sixx, ProSieben MAXX, SAT.1 GOLD and kabel eins Doku will be broadcast on the TV platform of Exaring AG in Germany. The agreement also covers content from the TV stations’ media libraries as a catch-up option, as well as the “instant restart” function by which a program in progress can be viewed from the beginning even during the broadcast, and the option of receiving several TV programs at once via a network-based Personal Video Recorder (NPVR). The agreement also provides for a collaboration in the area of “Addressable TV,” which will make it possible to run different TV ads depending on the target group.
