7TV with strong management team on track for product launch in summer

  • Katja Hofem becomes Co-Managing Director for Content, Marketing and Partner Management

Munich, February 20, 2019. The management team around 7TV CEO Alexandar Vassilev is strengthened: On 15 March 2019, Katja Hofem changes to the management of 7TV, the streaming platform of Discovery and ProSiebenSat.1. Her tasks include the development and production of new formats as well as content purchasing. In addition, the 48-year-old will be responsible for the strategically optimized distribution of TV and on-demand content in cooperation with the channel partners. Hofem is also responsible for all marketing issues and partner management.

Jochen Cassel, previously Managing Director of ProSiebenSat.1 Digital, will become CFO of 7TV on April 1, 2019. He will also be responsible for Legal and Human Resources.

In addition, Constanze Gilles takes over the Distribution & Partnerships division as Senior Vice President at 7TV. In her new position, Gilles will oversee the partnerships of 7TV Joint Venture GmbH and the associated brands 7TV, maxdome and Eurosport player. In her role, she will continue to expand the distribution and platform partnerships and develop strategies for successful growth of the new platform.

The launch of the new, cross-channel and open streaming platform is planned for summer. Exclusive contents, like with ProSieben co-produced series “Check Check” with Klaas Heufer-Umlauf, will be to be seen as well on the new platform. Further own productions are planned.

Katja Hofem has been with ProSiebenSat.1 since 2010, since 2016 COO of ProSiebenSat.1 TV Deutschland and Managing Director of ProSiebenSat.1 TV Deutschland for Small & New Channel Development. She was also responsible for the launch of sixx and SAT.1 Gold. Previously, Hofem was head of broadcasting at kabel eins and responsible for the development of the DMAX channel at Discovery Communications.

Jochen Cassel has been with the ProSiebenSat.1 Group since 2017, as Managing Director of ProSiebenSat.1 Digital since June 2018. Previously he was CFO at the Berlin start-up Movinga, between 2011 and 2016 he was responsible for the financial reporting of Zalando.

Constanze Gilles has many years of experience in the media industry and has worked for various media companies in licensing and program planning functions. Most recently, as Vice President Partner Channels, she was responsible for Sky Deutschland's partner channels, where she drove the strategic expansion of the company's partnerships.
