“Central European Media Enterprises” joins the European Media Alliance as additional partner

Munich, September 8, 2017. Along with its European partners, ProSiebenSat.1 has added another strategic partner to the European Media Alliance (EMA). Joining the network is Central European Media Enterprises (CME), a leading media group active in the Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovakia, and Slovenia while reaching 50 million inhabitants. With this new partner the EMA has taken a significant step towards achieving full coverage across Europe. Christof Wahl, Member of the Executive Board, Digital, & COO ProSiebenSat.1 Group: “The European Media Alliance is expanding its success story together with CME as a new member. The alliance will reach a geographic area comprising about 550 million inhabitants in total. The Media Alliance enables their members to tap into a pan-European market, earn additional revenue potential, and cooperate on innovative business models particularly in the digital segment.”  Christoph Mainusch, Co-Chief Executive Officer CME: “This alliance is a great match for us, bringing together our leading brands with other leading broadcasters across Europe. We look forward to developing our partnerships with members as this will provide better access and reach for growth-stage advertisers anywhere on the continent, accelerate the introduction of better digital technologies and increase the amount of high quality content available to entertain audiences.” ProSiebenSat.1 joined forces with leading European broadcasters to initiate the European Media Alliance in 2014 to enhance common synergies, create investment opportunities, and facilitate transfer of knowledge. Within the framework of the EMA for instance, the TF1 Group (France) and Mediaset (Italy and Spain) together with ProSiebenSat.1 founded the European Broadcaster Exchange, an independent joint venture for programmatic sale of pan-European premium video inventory headquartered in London. EMA priorities include international partnerships, strategic and commercial businesses, and deals for content rights. The following media companies are members of the European Media Alliance: ProSiebenSat.1 Media (GSA), TF1 (France), Channel 4 (UK), Mediaset (Italy), Mediaset Espana (Spain), MTG (Scandinavia), Dogan TV Holding (Turkey), TVN (Poland), Antenna Group (Southeastern Europe), CME (Central and Eastern Europe), and SIC (Portugal).
