Dr. Stefan Gärtner and Stefan Thul move to German Free TV Holding GmbH / German Free TV group now home to co-production, film policy, production management

Unterföhring, November 4, 2008. Effective immediately, Dr. Stefan Gärtner, 44, formerly Manager of Co-Production and Co-Financing, and Stefan Thul, 46, formerly Vice President Group Content Production, both of ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG, will be moving to German Free TV Holding GmbH. They will report to Andreas Bartl, the Executive Board Member for German Free TV at ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG.

As Senior Vice President, Co-Productions and Film Policy, Gärtner will coordinate all domestic and international television co-productions; in his capacity as managing director of SevenPictures Film GmbH, he will be in charge of all German theatrical film co-productions for the German group of stations. Gärtner will also be in charge of all stations relationships with subsidy institutions and all matters having to do with film policy.

Stefan Thul, as Senior Vice President, will coordinate production management for all the German Free TV stations productions, including rights, exploitation, profitability and budgets. Jointly with Gärtner, Thul will also represent the German stations in relationships with producers associations.

Dr. jur. Stefan Gärtner joined ProSieben / ProSieben Media AG in 1996, as an attorney. From 2000 to 2004 he headed the office of the chief TV officer at ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG, Dr. Ludwig Bauer; he has also been managing director of SevenPictures Film GmbH since 2000. He was Manager, Business Affairs, until 2006, and finally took responsibility for co-production and co-financing.

Stefan Thul came to ProSieben from RTL in 1995, as a production manager. He took charge of production and decentralized concept controlling at ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG in 1999, and then was appointed the companys production manager for all stations in 2000. He was appointed Senior Vice President Group Content Management in 2007.

Said Andreas Bartl, the Executive Board Member for German Free TV at ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG: The transfer of these two important areas of operations to German Free TV is a logical step to strengthen the stations strategically in television and theatrical film productions, as well as rights acquisition and exploitation the latter particularly with an eye to cross-platform exploitation of programming content. And with Stefan Gärtner and Stefan Thul Im happy to welcome two experienced, respected experts to the German Free TV team.
