In our business, it is important to discover and promote young talents at an early stage. After all, developing young talents is the same as investing in the future; and we can benefit from that. That is why ProSiebenSat.1 TV Deutschland GmbH also collaborates with the Screenplay Academy of the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (dffb), and with the German state of Baden-Württemberg, on the production of prime-time premiere movies.
The jury members including Ulrike Folkerts, Matthias Schweighöfer, screenplay writer Bernd Lange, media journalist Klaudia Wick and w&v editor-in-chief Jochen Kalka selected the best works from among the 169 entries submitted by young talents. The winners from among the 24 nominated productions in the categories of feature films, documentaries and promotional films, as well as the one-time special award Camera 2010, will be announced on the evening of the FIRST STEPS ceremony on August 24, 2010.
