Guido Bolten to Be New Managing Director at kabel eins

Munich, January 10, 2006. Guido Bolten, 44, will be the new managing director of German television station kabel eins. Effective immediately, Bolten will succeed Andreas Bartl, who moved over to head the associate TV station ProSieben in December 2005. Bolten has hitherto been editor-in-chief of Information and Magazines at ProSieben. Im delighted that in Guido Bolten, a man from our own ranks is taking charge at kabel eins, said Guillaume de Posch, CEO of ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG. I am sure that with his many years of experience in the television business he will help kabel eins develop and grow even stronger as the recognized quality brand in the German TV market.

After studying journalism in Cologne, Guido Bolten began his career in 1986 as head of sports at Radio Gong in Nuremberg. After stopovers at SWF 3 and as deputy editor-in-chief of the state-wide private radio station Antenne Bayern, Bolten made the change to television in 1991. He worked as a commentator and anchorman at Tele 5 and ProSieben. In 1993, he took over as editor-in-chief at DSF in Munich. In 1996 he jointed Plaza Media, where he was in charge of various productions as editorial director. From 1997 to 2000, he headed the Information & Magazines department at kabel eins, before taking over as editor-in-chief of Information & Magazines at ProSieben

"When children do sports, they speak one language."
“UKIMWI” is spelled out in capital letters on the ground of the dusty sports field in Bukoba, Tanzania. Ukimwi is Swahili, and it means AIDS. The children from the elementary school put the word together using lots of little wooden sticks.
