ITB 2014: ProSiebenSat.1 founds ProSieben-Travel GmbH / Travel business to be consolidated under one roof

Munich, February 27, 2014. In the future, the travel business activities of the ProSiebenSat.1 Group will be consolidated within the new company ProSieben Travel GmbH. The TV station group announced this step today in advance of the travel trade show ITB Berlin (March 5-9, 2014). In the last two years, the ProSiebenSat.1 Group has acquired, through its ventures arm SevenVentures, a portfolio of fast-growing individual companies, thereby laying the groundwork for its "House of Travel." The formation of this overarching umbrella company underscores ProSiebenSat.1's commitment to the travel business, while also laying the foundation for additional growth in this area. The new company will be managed by Jörg Trouvain (CEO) and Daniel Puschmann (COO). Effective immediately, the following activities will be consolidated under the roof of ProSieben Travel GmbH: the travel portals weg.de and ferien.de, the dynamic travel organizer TROPO, billiger-mietwagen.de as Germany's biggest portal for rental cars, mydays.de as the specialist for experience gifts and events, and the online travel agency reise.com. Furthermore, the Group's own weather portal wetter.com will also be included. Thus, the new company will satisfy all travel-related needs, from flights to hotels and rental cars, and provide all relevant information on weather and climate conditions, as well as local attractions.
