Pay TV stations a new addition to the Zattoo Plus package Subscribers to the Zattoo Plus package can look forward to an expanded range of entertainment options. Four pay TV stations from the ProSiebenSat.1 Group have been added to the sports, entertainment, knowledge, and music stations available until now. ProSieben FUN and SAT.1 emotions guarantee top-notch entertainment with popular series and blockbusters, kabel eins CLASSICS offers classic movies and series, while wetter.com TV broadcasts up-to-date weather news 24/7. Explaining the reasons for the closer cooperation, Nicole Agudo Berbel, Senior Vice President Distribution Sales & Key Account Management at ProSiebenSat.1, remarks: “We would like to deliver our content to our viewers through as many means as possible. In addition to traditional viewing on a large screen in the living room, watching content on tablets and laptops is becoming increasingly popular. The young target group of viewers between the ages of 14 and 19 already spends 15 minutes per day via channels or devices watching TV shows outside of the linear use on televisions. By paying attention to the usage behavior of our viewers and expanding our cooperation with Zattoo, we are providing our viewers more convenient access to our catch-up content, which is now available on Zattoo bundled together with our free and pay TV offerings.” Thanks to the integration of catch-up TV content, Zattoo users have become more location independent when it comes to watching TV and they no longer need to worry about fixed broadcast schedules. For Zattoo, the expansion of its offerings through the addition of popular productions from ProSiebenSat.1 represents an important milestone in its effort to position itself as a cross-station platform for linear and time shifted television. “By providing a comprehensive live TV program as well as catch-up TV and video-on-demand content within a single central application, we offer our viewers a future-oriented TV service that reflects current user requirements,” explains Jörg Meyer, Chief Officer Content & Consumer at Zattoo. Meyer adds: “With ProSiebenSat.1, we have a strong partner at our side.” Live TV streaming from Zattoo can be viewed on computers, smartphones, tablets, and Internet-connected televisions. The VoD service financed through advertising is currently available on zattoo.com as well as within the Windows 10 app. Expansion to the Zattoo apps for iPhone and iPad will be available soon.
