ProSiebenSat.1 Group acquires stake in MyVideo Germanys number one video community

Munich, September 4, 2006. The ProSiebenSat.1 Group has acquired a stake in MyVideo, the largest German-speaking video community on the Internet. The Group has purchased 30 percent of the company with an option to take over the rest at a later date. The addition of MyVideo means that the Group now includes a user-generated content service.

We think MyVideo is one of the most interesting Web sites on the Internet. Looking at the success of YouTube in the USA, for us, as a TV corporation, a video community is a self-evident direction in which to expand our activities. It allows us to take account of new user habits and offer an interactive platform for content, said ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG CEO Guillaume de Posch. Like our new pay TV channels and the maxdome video-on-demand portal that we just launched, MyVideo is another step for us to strengthen our presence in the digital world.

MyVideo.de has been growing dynamically. Each week it logs about 12 million downloads of the 70,000 videos on offer up to 2 million downloads per day. Content ranges from vacation videos to home-produced music clips and self made short films. About 1,800 new videos are added every day. Daily hits (page impressions) soared 560 percent between April and August of this year. The network counts about 27 million page impressions per week.
