ProSiebenSat.1 Group Launches Pay TV with Sat.1 Comedy and kabel eins classics

- Both Pay TV channels available on cable starting in May 2006
- New SevenSenses subsidiary to handle Groups digital TV programming

Munich, March 8, 2006. The ProSiebenSat.1 Group is about to launch its own Pay TV channels. Sat.1 Comedy and kabel eins classics will go on the air in May 2006. The comedy channel and the film channel will be available as a part of cable operators digital Pay TV packages. In the past few weeks, the ProSiebenSat.1 Group has agreed with cable operators Kabel Deutschland (KDG), Kabel BW and Unity Media on digital feeds of the Groups Free and Pay TV stations.

Said Guillaume de Posch, CEO of ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG: With our two new Pay TV channels, we are embarking on a new line of business for the ProSiebenSat.1 Group. Were taking advantage of our strong Free TV brands to offer viewers special additional services. As the countrys leading commercial television corporation, we can make good use of our programming expertise and programming assets here.

Both Pay TV channels will be available 24 hours a day. One channel, kabel eins classics, will offer movies in all genres, from the 1940s to the early 1990s. The schedule will be filled out with selected film highlights from Hollywood studios, high-quality European productions, and classic series. Sat.1 Comedy will show feature-length comedies from Hollywood and Europe, top-sitcoms from the US market, and the most successful comedy shows from Sat.1 and ProSieben. KDGs Pay TV package Kabel Digital Home and Unitys Tividi include both ProSiebenSat.1 Group channels and vary in price depending on their composition.

The Groups new Pay TV channels will be overseen by Group subsidiary SevenSenses GmbH, which is part of the Diversification division. Its managing directors are Thomas Schultheis, 40, and Dr. Dirk Kleine, 34. Thomas Schultheis formerly headed the programming unit at ProSieben, and before that was head of programming at kabel eins. Dr. Kleine will perform his duties at SevenSenses in addition to his work at SevenOne Intermedia. At that multimedia subsidiary of the ProSiebenSat.1 Group, he is in charge of corporate development, mobile activities and developing new lines of business, especially in the digital sector. SevenSenses will henceforth also be responsible for new IPTV and video on demand services.
Said Dr. Marcus Englert, ProSiebenSat.1 Group Director of Diversification: Under the leadership of Thomas Schultheis and Dirk Kleine, SevenSenses will be able to make top TV entertainment available digitally as well. These two experienced specialists have the job of diversifying our content and brands into the digital environment. Cross-media links between the new services and our Free TV services are an important factor in their work.
