PULS 24: State-of-the-art digital news platform from Austria goes live

Airing now: “PULS 24” brings you 24 hours of news, live-events and Austrian content on television and as an app

VIENNA, August 30, 2019 – “Life is live”: First brought to life as a breaking news pop-up channel on Austria’s top cost-free streaming app ZAPPN in June 2019, project “PULS 24” is ready to take the next step.  As of September 1, 2019, PULS 24 is the fourth home-grown Austrian TV station in the ProSiebenSat.1 PULS 4 group – as well as a brand new, independent app. PULS 24 keeps Austrians up-to-date and in the know 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This 360° project folds in the most influential innovations from the TV- and digital sectors, and represents a natural development in the digital transformation of our media house.

In the era of “fake news” and the growing mistrust of the authenticity and reliability of news, PULS 24 relies the power of live reporting – allowing audiences to access multiple channels that each provide a direct, unadulterated view of the country’s most important events. Our coverage includes information and news, business, tech, health, sports, society, service and entertainment – all serious, independent and live. Markus Breitenecker, Founder and CEO, PULS 4: "PULS 24 will be the first news and live event platform in Austria to produce local and international news and events in one place and distribute it centrally to all devices. With high standards and dignity. Our editorial principle: “Shed light on both sides”. Stefanie Groiss-Horowitz, General Manager, PULS 4 and PULS 24: "In an ever more complex world, we want to give stories the time that they deserve. We want to shed light on all sides of political and social developments and phenomena. We want to cover the most significant events as they are happening. We strive to be local, live and Austrian – and to add value to national and international TV offers. To that end, we are concentrating the journalistic power from each of PULS 4’s branches – from news to talk, TV magazines, society and sport. The new PULS 24 newsroom will be the beating journalistic heart of it all – and will become an even stronger muscle for our group.” Launching September 1, 2019
PULS 24 will officially air on Sunday, September 1 with a live prime-time broadcast featuring Sebastian Kurz, Peter Pilz and others at 20:15 (8 p.m.) CET. PULS 24 will be available on TV, and via App, Web and Livestream at https://puls24.at/. Receiver Info PULS 24
