Red Arrow International’s “Married at First Sight” premieres on Russia’s CTC
Munich/Cannes, April 7, 2013. Russia's leading
independent broadcaster CTC has picked up local rights to Danish
hit format "Married at First Sight". In a straight-to-series order,
"Zhenaty s pervogo vzglyada" (local title) will premiere on April
20th on CTC. After topping DR3's channel average by
almost 500%, the extreme social experiment has recently been
renewed for a second season - this time it will air on DR's main
channel, DR1. Originally created by Red Arrow's Snowman
Productions, "Married at First Sight" has previously been sold
straight to series to over 15 countries.
Vyacheslav Murugov, Chief Content Officer of CTC Media: "Our
strategy is focused on developing reality television as a genre on
all channels of the holding. We are glad to collaborate with Red
Arrow, which is one of Europe's leading production companies. A
Russian adaptation of the 'Married at First Sight' TV show will be
made by the Mastiff company. We expect 'Married at First Sight' to
be a success in Russia, too."
Shakira Hoffmann, Senior Sales Manager, CEE at Red Arrow
International says "'Married at First Sight' is proving itself to
be a hugely successful format, gaining massive interest across the
world. We're delighted that the first adaptation of the show will
premiere on CTC this month."
