SevenOne International at MIPCOM 2011: Diverse Portfolio of New Fiction, Factual Programs and Entertainment Formats

Munich, September 28, 2011. With more than 50 new programs, SevenOne International, the ProSiebenSat.1 Group's programming sales company, will be presenting a diverse line-up at MIPCOM in Cannes from October 3 to 6, 2011. Highlights on the fictional side are the dramedy series "Lilyhammer", the comedy series "Betty White's Off Their Rockers" and the top-cast US feature film "The Greening of Whitney Brown" and on the factual side National Geographic's near-death experience series "The Indestructibles" and the docu reality "Louie Spence Dance Project". Format highlights are Dick de Rijks "You deserve it" and the new comedy series "What if?" from the creator of the "Benidorm Bastards". Content Portfolio Overview: TV Events:
The US feature film The Greening of Whitney Brown" (produced by Perfect Weekend) - starring Aidan Quinn ("Legends of the Fall"), Brooke Shields ("The Blue Lagoon"), Kris Kristofferson ("Blade") and Sammi Hanratty ("Hotel Zack & Cody") - portrays Whitney, a spoilt teenage girl. When her dad loses his job, the entire family is forced to move from Philadelphia to the country home of her father. Isolated from her friends Whitney reluctantly accepts her fate. But when she learns that her supposedly best friend Lindsay has been spreading rumors about her back in the city, Whitney climbs onto the horse Bob and undertakes a brash and adventure-filled journey back to Philadelphia. The 11 Million Euro production "The Man with the Bassoon" (produced by Ziegler Film and coproduced by Graf Film) is based on a true story: In 1891, Heinrich, a man with no means, emigrates to Russia. In his following steep career, he becomes the banker of the Tsar. After the outbreak of World War I and the Russian Revolution, he is banished to Siberia and loses everything: his wealth and his family. At the risk of his life, he takes flight to Sweden. In "Fateful Love - The Hunt for U 864" (produced by Aspekt Telefilm-Produktion Berlin GmbH), the 25-year-old Ellen is active in the resistance movement against the Nazis. She is ordered to spy on the German naval officer Hans - and falls in love with him. "Room 205" tells the stoy of 19-year-old Katrin entering college, who is taking the chance for finally escaping her current life. She enthusiastically moves into a run-down boarding house, unconcerned with the vague rumors regarding Annika, her room's previous tenant, who had vanished without a trace one year ago. Katrin soon connects with a clique of older students. But when people around her suddenly meet a mysterious death one after another, it finally dawns on Katrin that Annika was not simply the innocent victim of an evil clique of students... Series: In the dramedy series "Lilyhammer" produced by Rubicon and starring former "Sopranos" actor Steven van Zandt, Frank "The Fixer" Tagliano testifies against his Mafia boss in New York, and afterwards starts a new life in a small town in the Norwegian countryside called Lillehammer. But as he soon finds out, the past always has a way of catching up with you, especially when it concerns the Delucci family. "The Unit" (produced by Rubicon) is a fictional portrayal of a specialized task force within the Norwegian police force, which is concentrating on serious crimes against children. Boasting a Scandinavian style and an American pace, each episode of the series focuses on one specific, complex case and the dramatic efforts of the five intensely committed task force members to solve it. Comedy Series: American icon and seven-time Emmy Award winner Betty White is starring "Betty White's Off Their Rockers", a hidden-camera comedy series where seven senior citizens play pranks on unsuspecting younger people. Based on the "Benidorm Bastards", the US version is produced by Kinetic Content for NBC. Movies: In the thriller "The Last Dance" (producer: Wiedemann & Berg) mysterious accidents and deaths are putting the young ballet dancer Anna at a deadly risk. The seventeenth installment of the successful "Dream Hotels" (producer: Lisa Film) carries the audience off to Vietnam. In "Love XXL" (producer: Ninety Minute Film), well-toned gymn owner Nick and the overweight Eva switch bodies and trigger a series of mishaps. Upcoming Events: Based on a true story "The Spy" (produced by Aspekt Telefilm-Produkion Berlin GmbH) tells about the life of Vera Schalburg, german top secret agent in 1940. She and two other agents are set out for "Operation Lena". But Schalburg's most important mission ends in a fiasco. "The Revenge of the Traveling Whore" (produced by TV 60 Filmproduktion GmbH) is the sequel to "The Whore", SAT.1's most successful event movie production of all times. It tells the story of how the love of Marie and Michel continues and what obstacles the lovers have to face. In "What Animals Want" (produced by Phoenix Film Karlheinz Brunnemann GmbH & Co Produktions KG) the cocky Jack Russell terrier Johnny and the more cool-headed pet pig Paula are magically blessed with the gift of speech - to help playing matchmaker for Jan's father, so that Jan can have a new mum and start with a brand new family. Factual: Shock. Heart racing. Adrenaline pumping. Final prayers. National Geographic's new near-death experience series "The Indestructibles" (produced by Storyhouse) takes a fascinating look at how the human body responds to extreme conditions, how the physics of such disasters actually work, and how the mind and one's psychological make-up can mean the very difference between life and death. Being scheduled to premiere at the beginning of 2012 on OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) the "Louie Spence Dance Project" (produced by Kinetic) follows the world-renowned choreographer and dance instructor Louie Spence as he brings new energy into the curriculum of Broadway Dance Center, an American studio in New York City. Having already worked with stars like Mariah Carey, The Spice Girls, Kylie Minogue, and Robbie Williams he is just the right person to do so. Formats: "You Deserve it" (produced by Kinetic Content for ABC) is the first game show where a contestant is not playing for himself - but for someone else. Someone who deserves it! They can potentially win a fortune and make this the turning point in the life of one special person. "You Deserve It" is the new blockbuster from Dick the Rijk, the creator of "Deal Or No Deal", and offers a unique combination of studio-based, nail-biting game play and on-location reality TV with a big surprise reveal. "You Deserve It" has already been sold to various channels such as ABC in the United States, Antena 3 in Spain, MBC in the Middle East and SAT.1 in Germany. "What if?" (produced by SHELTER) - the brand new comedy sketch show from Tim van Aelst (SHELTER), the creator of "Benidorm Bastards"! Each sketch begins with a question that starts with "What if". This well-loved show has been delighting entire families for an incredible 17 years, for over a decade boasting up to 50% of the TV market share for its core target group. "Pop Quiz" is more than just an ordinary game show. It is an imaginative mix of a trivia quiz show and an extremely addictive game, which demands analytical and strategic thinking in order to beat the board and your opponent. Three contestants compete by answering trivia questions as they try to burst the most bubbles. The more bubbles you pop, the more money you put at stake - but be careful!
