132,057 for RED NOSE DAY handed over by the team involved in the world famous musical, Starlight Express!

Unterföhring, 11th June 2010. Thursday evening, 10th June 2010, saw the ceremonial handover of a cheque for RED NOSE DAY in Cologne. The musical cast of Starlight Express supported the crazy fundraising promotion organised by ProSiebenSat.1 TV Deutschland in 2009 with great success: 132,057 was raised in donations from members of the musicals audience. The cast have been collecting money for these good causes with great passion and commitment since June 2009. RED NOSE DAY will be distributing the donations equally among selected childrens aid organisations.
The musicals actors Andreas Wolfram (electric train Electra) and Ernest Marchain (diesel train Greaseball) handed over the cheque on behalf of the whole Starlight Express team. The cheque was received with a smile by Barbara Meier, winner of the second round of Germanys Next Top Model, who also works hard herself on behalf of childrens aid projects (including Power Child).
SAT.1 presenter Oliver Pocher, who regularly appears for children in need (Sportfreunde Pocher, 2009, ran hilft Haiti, 2010).
Jobst Benthues, Chairman of the Board of RED NOSE DAY e.V., Managing Director of Red Seven Entertainment GmbH and SVP Entertainment at ProSiebenSat.1 TV Deutschland GmbH.

Jobst Benthues was pleased, Many thanks to the Starlight Express team on behalf of RED NOSE DAY. Your superb skating thrills spectators both in the audience and behind the scenes. You have raised the fantastic total of more than 130,000 in just a few months. Thats a great commitment for a great cause!

Help through humour, cheerful charity and countless children all around the world whose living situations have been sustainably improved by concrete aid: ProSieben brought RED NOSE DAY to Germany from Great Britain in 2003. In the meantime, the kind-hearted concept has built up several years of tradition here too and is broadcast on ProSiebens sister station. And it will all be happening again in autumn 2010.
