Changing Transponders: Digital Satellite Programming from Sat.1 Switzerland to Use ASTRA Tx 82 Starting Today

Significant improvement in transmission quality

Munich, April 2, 2007. The ProSiebenSat.1 Group is reorganizing its digital satellite broadcasting on the ASTRA platform. Starting today, viewers who use a digital satellite receiver will be getting Sat.1 Switzerland via ASTRA transponder 82. During a three-month simulcast phase that will run until June 30, programming will still also be available on the old transponder 87. There will be no changes for viewers who get Sat.1 Switzerland programming via analog satellite, cable, or Bluewin tv.

Those who use digital satellite receivers can tune them to the new reception parameters via the equipments manual or automatic search functions, and then save the channels at their usual place. For the manual search, the following parameters have to be used: ASTRA 1H 19,2° E, downlink frequency 12.051 Mhz, symbol rate 27.500, FEC 3/4, polarization horizontal.

The change to transponder 82 will significantly improve transmission quality, since the new transponder will be used only by ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG channels and the available capacity can be utilized more flexibly.

You can get more information on page 190 of the Sat.1 Switzerland teletext service.
