Michael Schmidt becomes Senior Vice President Group Format Acquisitions & Development of ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG

Munich, July 28, 2009. Effective September 1, 2009, Michael Schmidt will assume the position of Senior Vice President Group Format Acquisitions & Development of ProSiebenSat.1 Group. In this position, he will manage international format acquisitions and coordinate the groups creative operations and development pipeline. In his new capacity, Schmidt will report to Jan Frouman, Executive Vice President Group Content Acquisitions & Production. The 36-year-old formerly served as Senior Vice President Entertainment of German Free TV Holding, which combines the German free TV broadcasters of the TV Group, Sat.1, ProSieben, kabel eins and N24.

Michael Schmidt joined ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG in 2005, initially serving as department head for format development and comedy at ProSieben before being promoted to deputy head of entertainment of ProSieben in 2006. In May 2008, he assumed responsibility for coordination of the entertainment programming areas within German Free TV Holding as Senior Vice President Entertainment.
