MIPCOM 2010: SevenOne International to Present a Diverse Line-up of New Fiction Programs, Magazines and Documentaries

Munich, September 23, 2010. SevenOne International will be presenting a diverse line-up at MIPCOM in Cannes from October 4 to 8, 2010. Highlights include a impressive movie line-up with more than 20 titles, including the catastrophe events Blackout and Death Zone, the big-budgeted literature screen adaptation The Whore, long-running action series such as Zone City and S1NGLE and outstanding magazines like Galileo X.perience.

TV Events: When blackness rules, chaos ensues: In the gripping TV thriller Blackout (produced by Constantin Television), a giant power failure plunges the city of Berlin into a deadly turmoil. Based on an international bestseller by Iny Lorentz, the 6 Million Euro production The Whore (produced by TV 60 Filmproduktion) is set in the Middle Ages and tells the mesmerizing story of a young woman (Alexandra Neldel), who is accused of being a whore. Drama meets action: In The Sleepers Wife (produced by 20:15 Film und Fernsehproduktion), Katys world is turned upside down when she finds out that her husband Zaid is a sleeper. Taking matters into her own hands, she follows her family to Sudan. A dangerous showdown ensues. 247 Days (produced by Zeitsprung Entertainment GmbH) is based on a true story. During holidays in Turkey, the 17-year-old Marco becomes intimate with the English girl Carolina. As it turns out she is only 13 and Marco is sent to prison for sexual assault.

Movies:
SevenOne International is presenting more than 20 new movies, ranging from catastrophes, romantic comedies, dramas and family entertainment to the detective and crime genre. Political intrigues, sordid affairs and powerful secrets are revealed in the crime movie High Society Murder VII (produced by Tivoli Film GmbH) starring Fritz and Sophie Wepper. In the thriller The Stranger (produced by Ninety Minute Film GmbH), the attractive 17-year-old Maniche disturbs the idyllic life from Viktoria and Markus. Soon the truth is revealed to Markus a truth too outrageous to remain buried in any hidden past. In the drama 08:28 a.m. (produced by Jumping Horse Film GbR) Katharina confesses her affair to her husband Christoph. Heavily disappointed by Christoph´s cool indifference, she boldly decides to leave both her husband and her affair and sets out on her own to China.

Series: A serial killer looking for revenge, a sexual crime in a hotel, a murder of African refugees: the long-running detective series Zone City (produced by Studio-A) offers an exciting mix of action and crime. Each week the detectives Tom Segers, Fien Bosvoorde and Dani Wauters work on a new, thrilling case. In the third season of the dramedy S1NGLE (produced by FourOne.Media B.V) the three friends Stella, Fatima and Nienke cheerfully continue their quest for love and happiness.

Soap: Heartbeat (produced by Producers at work) is all about music and dance, everyday life at high school, first love, intrigue and rivalry and a young teacher named Bea Vogel who is prepared to fight for her ideals.

Magazine/Documentaries: Near-death experiences captured on camera: the sciencetainment magazine Galileo X.perience (produced by Storyhouse) tells the story of people who have survived their own deaths and explains exactly why they are still alive. Recorded in breathtaking and unique original footage three gripping survival stories are presented in each episode. The weekly news magazine Understanding Tomorrow (produced by Airtime Dubai) covers the latest developments in science and technology and the impact they will have on our lives. Galileo: Knights, Saints & Witches (produced by Storyhouse) explores the exciting grains of truth that exist within medieval legends. Extreme weather conditions, ruthless currents and a number of technical problems: in 2 Men and a Rowing Boat (produced by Sultan Sushi) two guys without any rowing experience cross the vast Atlantic Ocean. The two part special Ferrari World Abu Dhabi (produced by Storyhouse & gtv) focuses on the very first Ferrari World, the largest indoor amusement park ever built from its start to its finish in the middle of the desert.

Upcoming Events: The first profiler in the Middle Ages: in the 5.11 Million Euro production Isenhart (produced by Janus Film GmbH), three men set out to track down a serial killer in the High Middle Ages. The thriller Without a Trace (produced by MR-Film Kurt Mrkwicka Gesellschaft mbH) tells the story of teenage Alexandra, who disappears after a town festival. A frantic search starts uncovering more and more unsettling facts. The 11 Million Euro production The Man with the Basson (produced by Ziegler Film and coproduced by Graf Film) is based on a true story: In 1891, Heinrich, a man with no means, emigrates to Russia. In his following steep career, he becomes the banker of the Tsar. After the outbreak of World War I and the Russian Revolution, he is banished to Siberia and loses everything: his wealth and his family. At the risk of his life, he takes flight to Sweden. In Fateful Love The Hunt for U 864 (produced by Aspekt Telefilm-Produktion Berlin GmbH), the 25-year-old Ellen is active in the resistance movement against the Nazis and is ordered to spy on the German naval officer Hans and falls in love with him. Jack Russell terrier Johnny and pig Paula act as love agents for widowed Peter in the family entertainment movie What Animals Want (Phoenix Film Karlheinz Brunnemann GmbH & Co Produktions KG). The population of northern Germany has just two hours to escape before the nuclear disaster strikes in the catastrophe movie Death Zone (produced by Ninety Minute Film GmbH)
