ProSiebenSat.1 Group acquires Free TV rights to UEFA Cup and UEFA Super Cup

Munich, August 3, 2006. The ProSiebenSat.1 Group has acquired exclusive Free TV broadcasting rights to the UEFA Cup and the UEFA Super Cup. The three-year contract between ProSiebenSat.1 Group and UEFA, which was signed yesterday, will cover up to six matches of the UEFA Cup each year, starting with the quarter finals next spring up to the final match. The contract also includes the annual UEFA Super Cup match between the winners of the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Cup which will be held in Monaco in August.

Because of the strong presence of German teams in the competition, the rights are particularly interesting for Germany.
