ProSiebenSat.1 Group: Christian Wegner named Chief Strategy Officer

Munich, March 19, 2009. Dr. Christian Wegner, 34, has been appointed Chief Strategy Officer of ProSiebenSat.1 Group as of March 1, 2009. As Executive Vice President Strategy and Operations he will be responsible for Corporate Strategy, Consulting and the Program Management Office that has been established to steer and execute improvement programs focussing on growth, profitability and the optimization of the business unit portfolio. Christian Wegner reports to Thomas Ebeling, CEO of the ProSiebenSat.1 Group.

Thomas Ebeling: In dynamic and challenging economics it is of the utmost importance to define a compelling strategy, improve the operational performance and create a positive agenda. Therefore I have established the new corporate role of Chief Strategy Officer. I am confident that Christian is the ideal candidate for this position, since he has shown excellent operational execution skills, knows our group and the media market well and has acquired sound strategic capacity during his five year engagement at McKinsey.

In addition, Christian Wegner will continue to serve as Managing Director of the German operational units ProSiebenSat.1 Produktion GmbH and P7S1 Applications GmbH, reporting to Patrick Tillieux, Chief Operating Officer.

Christian has joint the ProSiebenSat.1 Group in 2004 and taken different management position within ProSiebenSat.1 Produktion, where he currently serves as Managing Director. In parallel, he had been appointed Chief Integration Officer to set-up and manage the synergy and integration process after the merger with SBS. Prior to joining ProSiebenSat.1, Christian spent five years as consultant at McKinsey & Company serving clients in the media, private equity, and finance industry. Christian Wegner was born in 1974 in Bad Homburg. After his business studies in Frankfurt/Main, he obtained a PhD at the university of Witten-Herdecke and the European Business School (EBS) Schloss Reichartshausen.
