ProSiebenSat.1 TV Deutschland: 2010 audience share 28.5 percent

Unterföhring, January 2, 2011. ProSiebenSat.1 Deutschland GmbHs stations logged a 28.5 percent audience share in 2010, a year dominated by sports. SAT.1 had a 10.7 percent share, ProSieben 11.6 percent, and kabel eins 6.2 percent; figures are not available yet for sixx, the Groups station for women.

At SAT.1, 2010 was a year of hit event movies, Champions League soccer and German series Die Wanderhure with Alexandra Neldel drew 32.4 percent of the key demographic, and the breathtaking four-part Pillars of the Earth averaged 25.3 percent. The Champions League finals attracted up to 45.6 percent of the audience to the TV. Danni Lowinski (up to 17,7 percent) and Der letzte Bulle (up to 15,9 percent) showed that German series still remain strong in the SAT.1 prime time ratings lineup.
ProSieben earned its ratings with entertaining variety shows, mega-blockbusters, outstanding comedy, and absorbing knowledge TV.
Stefan Raab made TV history, creating Unser Star für Oslo, finding Lena and bringing Germany the Eurovision Grand Prix. Johnny Depp swept away 40.2 percent of the audience in Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End. Switch reloaded spoofed German TV to draw audience shares of up to 18.1 percent. Galileo celebrated its most successful year since 2002, with an average share of 13.9 percent.
In 2010, kabel eins topped a monthly share of 7.0 for the first time (August). Its main hits for the year: The Biggest Loser Abspecken im Doppelpack with Regina Halmich and an audience share of up to 7.2 percent in prime time; Abenteuer Leben täglich Wissen in prime access with up to 12.7 percent; the 2010 sitcom Two and a half Man in prime access with up to 21.3 percent; and feature films like The Transporter (12.5 percent).
The first real woman among TV broadcasters: Launched on May 7, 2010, with a technical reach of 43 percent, sixx continues to grow. As of January 1, 2011, the ProSiebenSat.1 Groups most feminine station will be available in analog format via satellite from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., adding a further 5.5 million households.

The stations December figures: In the Christmas month, SAT.1 earned a 10.3 percent share, ProSieben 11.2 percent, and kabel eins 6.3 percent.
