Red Arrow International sells format rights to “Danni Lowinski” to Marathon in France

Munich, March 19, 2013. French production company Marathon (a Zodiak Media company) has secured remake rights to Red Arrow International's multi-award winning dramedy "Danni Lowinski". In Germany, the hit series is currently in its fourth season. Jérôme Vignac, Producer at Marathon, says '''When I came across this format at Mipcom, I straight away secured the rights for the French market. Funny, sharp, popular, modern... 'Danni Lowinski' is the kind of comedy we need right now. It was clearly obvious to me!'' Aline Avedikian, Regional Sales Manager France at Red Arrow International, says "'Danni Lowinski' is the perfect series for a remake with its clear concept and proven success. Danni fights for what she believes in. A modern woman - I can't wait to see her on screen in France." About "Danni Lowinski"
"Danni Lowinski" (produced by Markus Brunnemann/Phoenix Film and created by Marc Terjung) is a lawyer and former hairdresser with an unconventional business plan. Providing legal services for €1 a minute, she fights for people in need. In Germany, the fourth season of "Danni Lowinski" is currently on air on SAT.1. In 2012, the Belgian remake scored stellar ratings, being the biggest hit for public broadcaster VTM in 5 years. A second season is in production. Local versions are also in production in Netherlands, Ukraine and Russia. "Danni Lowinski" won several awards including the German Television Award. About Marathon
Marathon, a Zodiak Media company, is the original entity around which the Zodiak France group of companies has developed (comprising Marathon, Marathon Media, Tele Images Productions, GTV, ALP, KM Productions and Mona Lisa, all French subsidiaries of Zodiak Media). Marathon, along with GTV, is also the historical drama production cornerstone of Zodiak France. Its portfolio of international and domestic hits encompasses "Saint-Tropez", the most widely exported French series in the world (480 x 52'); "Dolmen", the top-rated mini-series on TF1 in 2005; "Secrets", M6's best advertising revenue in 2007; "A Man's World", a 90' comedy for M6, and "Mystery at the Moulin Rouge", France 2's #3 best drama ratings in 2011, etc. Most recent productions include "Summer Camp", a comedy series for TF1 produced by Yann Chassard. The first 6 x 52' episodes ranked best series launch of the season on TF1 in 2012. A second season is coming soon on TF1 and a third one is already in production; and "Back to Saint-Tropez", a spin-off of cult series Saint-Tropez, produced by Pascal Breton and Jérôme Vignac recently launched on TMC with outstanding ratings. Marathon is also developing ambitious international coproductions including "Versailles", a high-budget historical drama coproduced with Capa Drama for Canal +. Philippe Alessandri has been appointed in January 2013 Chief Executive Officer of Marathon (and GTV), in addition to his role at the helm of Tele Images Productions. This nomination follows Pascal Breton's departure, after many years heading the company he created in 1990. Programs produced by Marathon are distributed internationally by Zodiak Rights. "When children do sports, they speak one language."
“UKIMWI” is spelled out in capital letters on the ground of the dusty sports field in Bukoba, Tanzania. Ukimwi is Swahili, and it means AIDS. The children from the elementary school put the word together using lots of little wooden sticks.
