The ProSiebenSat.1 Accelerator Program supports business founders in the early stages

Unterföhring, January 23, 2013 - ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG has launched the ProSiebenSat.1 Accelerator program to support business founders and start-ups and prepare them for successful entry into the market. New businesses can benefit from the comprehensive know-how, expertise and network afforded to them by Germany's biggest TV station group. Another goal of the Accelerator Program is to make Germany more attractive for new businesses and establish structures to foster future innovation potential. Effective immediately, early-stage enterprises with an innovative business idea related to the media industry can apply to participate in the program, at www.P7S1Accelerator.com. Up to seven business start-ups every six months may qualify for comprehensive assistance and support. Participating enterprises will receive seed capital of EUR 25,000 to cover their incidental expenses. They will then undergo a structured mentorship program directed by decision-makers and experts in a wide variety of fields, at the headquarters of the TV group. The objective is to convey a comprehensive overview of all areas relevant to business, as well as extensive know-how suited to the individual needs of each start-up company. The program also includes networking events and a Demo Day, where newcomers can pitch their business ideas to investors and other multipliers. Dr. Christian Wegner, the Executive Board member Digital & Adjacent at ProSiebenSat.1 Group: "Too little is done in Germany to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit. New businesses encounter many obstacles that make it unnecessarily difficult for them to get a successful start. But as the country of ideas, we need a culture that supports and rewards entrepreneurial courage and commitment. The Accelerator Program is our contribution to ensuring that the German media industry continues to be an innovation driver that can stand up to international competition."
