CHALLENGE
PROJEKTE UND INITIATIVEN Challenge

Fully inclusive television – for over 30 years, Arbeitsgemeinschaft Behinderung und Medien e.V. (abm) has been raising awareness of the living conditions, concerns and interests of people with disabilities with extensive TV broadcast programs throughout Germany. Since 2000, we have supported the initiative with the magazine show CHALLENGE, which is broadcast on kabel eins and SAT.1 Gold on the first Saturday of every month. The thirty-minute report motivates our fellow citizens with disabilities to participate actively in social life. In addition, CHALLENGE informs non-disabled people about the life with disabilities, diminishes prejudices and promotes inclusive thinking. In 2017, the youth magazine "yoin" and the talk show "Krauthausen – face to face" were the first fully inclusive series to be integrated into the format, with optional subtitles, sign-language interpreters and soundtracks with audio description. This is an important development for the accessible television of the future, which ProSiebenSat.1 Group’s stations are actively shaping.

GIRLS' DAY
GIRLS' DAY

On the nationwide Girls' Day, businesses, companies and universities open their doors to schoolgirls from the fifth grade upwards. As part of the campaign, the girls learn about apprenticeships and courses of study in the natural sciences, technology, IT and crafts. Around 1.9 million girls have taken part since the launch of Germany's largest career orientation project in 2001. ProsiebenSat.1 provides schoolgirls with insights into vocational fields that they rarely consider in the process of career orientation. Among other things, the participants gained insights into the tech lab, postproduction, studios and control rooms.

GREEN SEVEN
GREEN SEVEN

Once a year, ProSieben’s logo turns from red to green for Green Seven week. During the annual initiative, ProSieben uses its extensive reach to raise awareness for ecologically relevant issues particularly among younger target groups – including the serious consequences of forest destruction ("Our forest is on fire", 2020), marine pollution caused by plastic waste ("Save the Oceans", 2019), environmental pollution caused by road traffic ("Save the Future", 2018) and the melting of the polar ice caps ("Save the Ice", 2017). In November 2021, the Green Seven took place for the 13th time and, under the motto "The truth about our food", made the complex topic of nutrition transparent and tangible. The heart of the Green Seven 2021 were the reports "Green Seven Report: Enjoy your meal - what are we really eating?" and "JENKE. The food experiment.". Also, the magazines "taff" and "Galileo" showed features on the subject throughout the week.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY
WELTFRAUENTAG

March 8th is an important date in Germany and around the world: On International Women's Day, women and men worldwide campaign for equality and against discrimination against women. Both on the stations and on the ProSiebenSat.1 Group's digital platforms, the topic meets with a great response. With numerous actions and annual campaigns as part of International Women's Day, the women's station sixx in particular campaigns for the issue of equality and launched a cross-platform campaign in 2021 together with UN Women Germany entitled „Wir werden #GenerationEquality!". Channel manager Ellen Koch says: „Our wish is for equality not to remain a vision of the future, but to become a matter of course." In previous years, sixx has also already launched attention-grabbing campaigns around International Women's Day, including „Tagesfrau" (2020), „Wir sind Heldinnen" (2019) or „Auf uns! – Wir feiern die Frauen (2018).

REDI SCHOOL OF DIGITAL INTEGRATION
REDI SCHOOL OF DIGITAL INTEGRATION

The ReDi School of Digital Integration is a non-profit school for IT-sawy refugees and asylum seekers. Here, interested participants are given the opportunity to acquire extensive programming skills and, depending on their abilities, to receive training and further education. They are supported by volunteer programmers from IT companies and start-ups, who pass on their knowledge to the refugees. ProSiebenSat.1 Tech Solutions has also supported the ReDi School as a cooperation partner since the end of 2018. ProSiebenSat.1 thereby not only assists financially but moreover transmits knowledge: Employees accompany various events, give courses and act as mentors. The ReDi School not only wants to promote the technological skills of its students, but also offers participants numerous workshops and networking opportunities. In this way, the refugees can already make first contacts with potential employers.

STARTSOCIAL
STARTSOCIAL

"Help for Helpers" - this is the motto of the startsocial competition co-founded by ProSiebenSat.1 in 2001, which promotes voluntary work in the social sector. Around 500 experts from business, the public sector and social institutions throughout Germany support volunteer projects in their practical implementation. In a four-month coaching phase, 100 selected initiatives receive professional advice to further develop and implement their ideas. In 2021, seven initiatives received a cash prize of 5,000 euros each for their commitment. This year, the Chancellor's special prize went to the Romanusbad Siebenlehn e.V., a purely volunteer-run outdoor swimming bath in a structurally weak rural community in Saxony. ProSiebenSat.1 employees were involved as coaches and contributed their expertise in various areas.  This year we also supported the Hacker School in Hamburg, which aims to get children and young people interested in programming, the social startup Mental Health Initiative, and the Ausbildung statt Abschiebung e.V. association.
