Joko & Klaas LIVE
In the format "Joko & Klaas gegen ProSieben", the two hosts regularly compete against their own network – the prize: 15 minutes of prime-time airtime, which they can use freely. And what do they do with it? They devote their attention to current events and socially relevant issues.
In 2024, Joko & Klaas used their platform to address socially relevant topics multiple times:
In "Joko & Klaas LIVE: #waswärewenn", they used an AI-generated simulation to present a striking scenario of the future – a world without the European Union. The haunting images clearly show the influence the EU has on our everyday lives. Their message: Go vote! They encouraged viewers to cast their vote in the European elections. The show can be found here.
In "Joko & Klaas LIVE: #PolitikUndAnstand", the chancellor candidates of three major democratic parties came together live. Beyond the heated debates, they took stand, discussed the political debate and discourse culture in Germany, and emphasized the importance of a respectful, fair, and democratic approach during the federal election campaign. The show can be found here.
Special Olympics
From March 8 to 15, athletes thrilled friends, family, and spectators with their skills and talents. At the world's largest inclusive multi-sport event, more than 1,500 athletes with intellectual and multiple impairment from 102 delegations competed in eight sports this year. A strong, international sign of inclusion, acceptance, and uniqueness!
Apart of the media alliance alongside ARD, ZDF, RTL, Bild, Deutsche Telekom with MagentaTV, and Sky, ProSiebenSat.1 has been involved since 2023. The broadcasters support the inclusive sporting event as part of their sustainability initiative, #OneTomorrow. By providing media space and extensive media coverage, we were able to bring the Special Olympics closer to a wide audience, thereby increasing visibility and awareness of the achievements and concerns of people with intellectual and multiple disabilities. The 2027 Special Olympics World Games in summer sports will take place in Chile, and in 2026, the national games will be held in Saarland. Coverage of previous games can be found here: www.sat1.de
startsocial
"Help for Helpers" - this is the motto of the startsocial competition co-founded by ProSiebenSat.1 in 2001, which promotes voluntary work in the social sector. Around 500 experts from business, the public sector and social institutions throughout Germany support volunteer projects in their practical implementation. In a four-month coaching phase, 100 selected initiatives receive professional advice to further develop and implement their ideas. ProSiebenSat.1 employees were involved as coaches and contributed their expertise in various areas. Every year, seven initiatives receive a cash prize of 5,000 euros each for their commitment. In 2025, ProSiebenSat.1 presented the award to the initiative "Geschenke gegen Kindertränen e.V."
